3M 467MP Adhesive Transfer Tape uses 3M High Performance Acrylic Adhesive 200MP for graphic attachment and general industrial joining applications. The tape provides strong adhesion to metals and high-surface-energy plastics and offers initial repositionability to support accurate placement when bonding plastic parts.

Its thin 2.3 mil adhesive construction is suited to applications requiring a low-profile bond line, strong shear performance and resistance to slippage or edge lifting.

Environmental Performance

When properly applied, 3M 467MP maintains high bond strength after exposure to humidity, water, temperature cycling and various chemicals. Manufacturer testing includes exposure to gasoline, MEK, mild acid, mild alkali, salt water and motor oil under defined laboratory conditions.

Actual performance depends on the bonded materials, surface preparation, dwell time, temperature, stress and application conditions. Evaluate the tape in the intended assembly before production use.

Application Guidance

• Thoroughly clean and dry bonding surfaces before application.
• Apply sufficient pressure during lamination and final installation so the adhesive makes direct contact with the substrate.
• The recommended application-temperature range is 60°F to 100°F.
• Application is not recommended when the surface temperature is below 50°F.
• Bond strength increases over time and with temperature.
• Heat may increase bond strength on metal parts, but the manufacturer states that added heat does not enhance bond strength on plastic parts.
• Confirm substrate compatibility and test the complete construction under actual service conditions.

How to Choose Between 3M 467MP and 468MP

Choose 3M 467MP when bonding thin, smooth and flexible materials to smooth surfaces and a 2.3 mil adhesive layer is appropriate.

For visible surface texture or applications requiring a thicker adhesive layer, 3M recommends evaluating a 5 mil 200MP adhesive such as 3M 468MP. Rigid or irregular components may require a thicker adhesive system.

Storage and Shelf Life

• Store in the original packaging away from direct sunlight.
