How do you reseal a carton?

To guarantee success in sealing a box, always start with a high quality, durable box. Next, you will want to use a good quality tape on a handheld dispenser. The handheld dispenser will help you create the highest tension resulting strongest box seal. Once you have the best tape, box, void fill and dispenser, proceed to the steps below

1. Start by folding the two smaller flaps. then, fold the two larger box flaps. Make sure that the box is the right size for your products. This will keep contents from shifting and further stressing the box seams.  If you have extra space in your box, it is always good to use some void fill to prevent the contents from shifting.  If your budget allows, it’s even better to use custom box to perfectly fit your product. 

2. Next Seal the edges of the cardboard box with the tape dispenser. Make sure the tape goes across the entire length of the box. The tape should go past the side of the box by at least 2 inches to properly secure to the sides.

3. If you want extra Box sealing performance, place tape along all box seams. This will reinforce any potential week spots.  If you are reusing a box, this is an especially helpful way to increase box strength

Bonus Box sealing tips:

Consider using a 3” wide tape.  This can actually result in a more effective seal and use less tape when compared to using extra strips of a 2” tape
